Starting as one of Toronto’s wealthiest neighbourhoods, Parkdale has seen significant change since its heyday in the late 1800s. The neighbourhood is affordable, accessible and has plenty of available rentals, making it no surprise that it is known as one of the most diverse areas in the GTA. Family friendly and community oriented, the neighbourhood is dense with schools, community centres and libraries.

Life & Style

Waterfront walkways can be found in Marilyn Bell Park and the 400-acre High Park boasts dog parks, playgrounds, walking trails and even a zoo!
Neighbourhood
With streetcar service on Parkdale’s major arteries, public transit is a breeze in the neighbourhood. For commuters, downtown is just minutes away via the Gardiner Expressway. If you’re looking for shopping, Queen Street West is lined with old style brick buildings home to ma and pa style cafes, restaurants and shops. Running along the east perimeter of the area is Roncesvalles Avenue, also known as the cultural centre of Toronto’s polish community and home to many Polish delis, restaurants and markets.

Who Lives Here: Parkdale is known as one of Toronto’s most diverse neighbourhoods, with 31% of the population speaking a language other than English at home. Over the years there has been an increase in the number of childless working professionals moving into the area.
Perfect For: Pierogi-loving young professionals or small families who appreciate a short commute to downtown, green space and walkable shopping.
