About University Crescent
I understand this may be a long shot, but reckon it’s worth putting it out there: looking to share 2-bed 2-bath year-old south-facing 870 sq.ft condo unit in SFU Burnaby Mountain UniverCity neighbourhood.
The single-occupancy space will be available beginning 3 August 2026, but reckon I will take as much time as necessary to find someone who will be an ideal fit in terms of habits and compatible personalities, and would enjoy each other’s company.
Location is at SFU Burnaby Mountain campus in the UniverCity neighbourhood. It’s a 3-minute walk to Nesters supermarket, Canada Post, and Timmy’s. It’s also a 5-minute walk to School of Computing Science; a 6-minute walk to frequent rapid TransLink bus service to downtown; and a 3-minute walk to frequent bus service to Production Way SkyTrain station. Endless miles of hiking trails through forests and hills beckon from the doorstep.
Roommate has access to a south-facing 9’ x 9’ bedroom (currently furnished with queen-sized bed with bedding, and an operable window for fresh air), small desk and chair, and private bath with tub. Shared in-suite laundry, a small kitchen, dining area, and a large balcony area are within suite. While there is a toaster, dishwasher, and microwave, please note that the cupboards, refrigerator, and pantry spaces are somewhat limited, so this would not be ideal if you cook more than 3 times per week.
$1200 per month rent is inclusive of utilities and wifi (and per usual 1/2 month security deposit). It’s for single occupancy only, and roommate should not have pets. Signed notarized lease is initially for 3 months trial, and can become month to month indefinitely, if it becomes evident that we’re both making each other happy.
In case you're wondering, the relative lowball rent reflects the ostensibly onerous (to some) requirements enumerated here. Parking can be rented at adjacent SFU lot for $75 per month. However, secured bicycle parking is available, and public bike share station can be found right outside building. No television or streaming service provided, so bring your own, if you’re into that.
Ideal candidates (of whatever gender you identify is OK, as long as you are respectful and conscientious) will be as careful about cleanliness as myself, and willing to keep the premises spotless and organized (including your own designated private spaces), and also agree to a vacuuming schedule (or pay extra for contracted external cleaning service) of common areas, which incidentally, is not air-conditioned. Needless to say, the ability to be articulate, honest, and maintain clear lines of communication are essential, as well as feeling comfortable (if not feign enthusiasm) engaging with occasional guests to the apartment (albeit very rare— usually less than once per quarter). Please don’t smoke anything (against strata rules), but we want you to be happy (edibles OK) and show it.
