About Ramsay
Why share a cramped apartment when you can share a whole house with one other person and a senior, quiet dog?!
Hey hey 👋 Starting my search for a roommate come August to share a beautiful character home located in central Calgary, minutes away from downtown. Walking distance to the Saddledome /eventual new arena for concerts and hockey games along with the Stampede grounds, shops/cafes on Inglewood’s trendy 9th Avenue, the Bow River pathway and more. The very trendy/sought after neighborhood of Inglewood/Ramsay is truly the draw to the place along with the skylights in the loft, a backyard with a fire pit and ample indoor/outdoor storage.
Bus stop is less than a block away which connects you to nearby c-train stations, or if you drive, both the University of Calgary and Mount Royal are 15 minutes away.
Rent is $1,050 per month, which does not include internet or utilities which would be split amongst us both. So, instead of renting out “just a room” I’d say it’s more us sharing the home as a whole. After calculating the past year's bills, the average all-in rent, per month was $1,270/each. Again, key word here is average as some months fluctuate much lower in the summer/warmer months and only slightly higher during 2 months in winter, but that's what I would budget for in the long run. If an "all-in" rental rate gives you better peace of mind to budget for, we can discuss that too. [Considering 2BD apartments that are half the size of this place go for $2000 plus internet+electricity, the cost is quite low when you factor in the amount of storage, perks and space you/we get :) ]
The room is cozy though it can fit a queen bed, it just depends on how you would configure the room with the type of bed frame you have (I highly recommend a slim one, such as the one I added to the photo album) and other furniture you may have. Coziness aside, it features it's own private half bath that has a large wall mirror, lots of storage and lots of natural light as it’s east facing. The semi walk-in closet has lots of shelving along with your standard pole to hang stuff.
The room can be furnished for an additional cost.
You’ll also get half of the area in the basement to use for whatever you wish. In the past, people have used it for their home office, a studio, a gaming area and/or even more storage. Completely up to you.
The rest of the house is furnished with mid-century modern/western knickknacks. Loft is the "main" living room & guest bed area (though this may be changing soon). Main floor features my bedroom at the front, sitting area/“living room #2," main full bathroom, large kitchen island for dining table, your room, kitchen, door to back deck/yard, stairs to basement. Then the basement has your space, my space, mutual storage room at the back, small home gym, freezer and laundry.
Pet friendly within guidelines… being a responsible pet owner is paramount and nothing less will be tolerated. My old girl is 13 and very aloof, rarely barks and would expect the same along with your pet having to get along with mine via park visit leading up to agreement.
Start a convo and I’ll share more details+pics if I think we’d be a great fit 😊
