It's a high-density, high-energy area with amazing shopping, a great location just east of downtown, west of the Distillery District and close to the Beaches, and boasting more transit options than you could hope for. Sure, the local park is kind of ugly in places, but at least it has a park – and good schools for the very few families who live here, for that matter. Oh, and the nightlife is unreal.

Market rents are definitely on the high side and many studios rent for more than a one-bedroom, due to the prestige of loft-style living. There are, however, tons of rentals available as long as you're looking for two bedrooms or less.

Hanging around at the St. Lawrence Market isn't just the ideal way to get fresh, local food to stock up the fridge, it's an awesome place to people watch and ogle tourists who flock here from out of town and around town. Picnics in the park are a big deal during the summer and people will start up a game of soccer, volleyball, frisbee or whatever else.

The St. Lawrence Market is more than just a market; it hosts cooking classes and other educational sessions, and celebrity chefs stop by from time to time, and it even helps host fundraisers and festivals that happen outside its walls.
