Bay Street Corridor, ON

Renting Guide

High-end city living at its finest

About

Located in the heart of downtown, the Bay Street Corridor is one of Toronto’s most densely populated areas. Its residents are generally young professionals who work and play in the community. Most are single, though a significant number are married without children. Residents of this area will find themselves steps from the heart of it all. There’s nothing you can’t get here – though you’ll pay a pretty penny for it.

The Bay Street Corridor Rental Market: The Bay Street Corridor is full of high-rise condo complexes and apartment buildings offering bachelor, one-, two-, and three-bedroom Bay Street Corridor apartments for rent. Many buildings are established, but others yet are brand new with all the bells and whistles. It’s not hard to find options to rent or buy, but expect to pay significantly more than the Toronto average, especially in the southern part of the neighbourhood.

Life & Style

If there were a Sex and the City: Canadian Edition, it would be set in the Bay Street Corridor. Apartments are not large in this area and are more suited to people who spend most of their time out and about. Residents rush from morning workouts in their condo buildings to the office, to dinner and drinks with friends, then crash before starting all over again the next day. Weekends are filled with special events and festivals at Yonge-Dundas Swquare, shopping at the Eaton Centre, or sipping cocktails on a patio.

Neighbourhood

Bay Street is the financial capital of Canada, so office buildings and bank branches abound. The Eaton Centre, Yonge-Dundas Square, and Nathan Phillips Square are all steps from your front door. Also closeby are several schools, hospitals, colleges, and universities. The Bay Street Corridor is right in Ryerson’s backyard. Residents can easily access Toronto’s subway system, as well as several bus and streetcar routes. Restaurants, bars, and clubs are everywhere. Theatres, cinemas, and more unconventional activities such as bowling, escape rooms, and board game cafes are all right here. The waterfront and Queen’s Park provide beautiful views and green space within walking distance. Art and culture are accessible too, with the ROM, AGO, and Bata Shoe Museum within walking distance.
