Affordable and family friendly detached homes… in the deep south
Launched in just 2002, the SE neighbourhood of Copperfield is all about youth – freshly minted area, new houses, young families… you know when kids ask adults’ ages, then deftly announce that 45 is old? Well, that’s true here. There are barely even seniors, so – you know – no one to remind Copperfield’s youngin’s about aging or death. For young couples and families though, Copperfield offers a life of comfort filled with the latest – hopefully greatest - conveniences. But, with tons of new builds, the neighbourhood has developed “bigger, better” syndrome, so be prepared to be keeping up with the Joneses, the Kardashians and everyone else in the ‘hood.

Life & Style
Ever wondered what the Kardashian sisters and their families would be like if they weren’t super rich and mega famous? Copperfield is your chance to find out. Life here seems, on the surface, to be about image and trends; but, look a little deeper and you’ll find tight bonds driven by family-first values. Parents prioritize family bonding time, reserving the weekends for park outings, day trips, and home-cooked meals. There can be a hint of competitiveness around kids’ achievements and families’ latest purchases; but, if you can get past this, there are life-long, supportive friendships that can be built in Copperfield.
Young families, young families – and more… wait for it… young families! There’s really no population over 45, but lots of kids under school age – hopefully not awaiting their chance to make Lord of the Flies a reality. Adult residents either have a family of their own or are nesting in preparation for starting one. These broody couples and current parents are mostly in their early 30s – and are always searching for the newest everything. They can afford it too, with the median income sitting at over $100,000.
Copperfield has limited green spaces, but offers up several small bodies of water. Drivers have Stoney Trail SE right at their doorstep, while public transit users have bus route along all the major streets. There’s no shortage of near-by schools. Also at the heart of the neighbourhood are Copperstone Dental and the Marquis De Lorne Community Association. At the corner of 52 Street SE and McIvor Boulevard SE at a Starbucks and a Calgary Co-op Gas Bar. Slightly further afield are a Shoppers Drug Mart, a Goodlife Fitness, and a number of restaurants, as well as a Sobeys. At the neighbourhood’s north end are a Tim Hortons, a pharmacy, and a liquor store. Close-by are a day spa and The Bizzeezbodies medical clinic.

Not-so-perfect for: “Old” people… which here means anyone over 40.
