Where adventure and history collide
Don’t let the “Meadows” fool you; this SW neighbourhood is rough and ready. Passionate about its past, the neighbourhood puts history on display at its various historical villages and specialty museums. But have no fear, there’s more than enough trails, shooting ranges, and escape rooms in the area to keep modern-day thrill-seekers’ blood pumping. Best of all, families in Canyon Meadows generally have grown children; so, unlike other fun-oriented neighbourhoods that tend to tone activities down to make them little one friendly, here entertainment and adventure can be pushed to the limit. What are you waiting for, adrenaline junkies? Leap into the Canyon, where the fun never stops – in the past, present, or future.

There’s really something here for everyone… except renters looking for small units. Those seeking larger spaces will have some more luck, but the neighbourhood is really about homeowners, who make up 80% of the local population. Life & Style
Canyon Meadows is a sweet neighbourhood - with a wild streak. When it comes to interactions with neighbours or community development, residents are all sugar, but the spice comes out when adventure time hits. Residents are always ready for an impromptu ski trip or to tear it up at the gun range. At the end of a long day of fun, fun, fun, locals love to pop over to one of the area’s pubs to laugh over beers with friends. It may not be the most sophisticated neighbourhood in the world, but Canyon Meadows is rough-and-tumble, grown-up fun – with a side of historical charm.
Canyon Meadows is filled with families – most with adult children… so the best kind. Seniors are also common, but are on the younger, more active side. No doddering grandpas and drooling grandmas here. In fact, residents of all ages share a passion for fitness, adventure, and thrills of all kinds. At the same time, history, especially the local variety, is cherished… cause here in the Canyon, it’s all about brains and brawn.
Canyon Meadows offers excellent transportation in the form of the C-Train LRT stop. For outdoor activities, head over to the Canyon Meadows Golf Club or Fish Creek Provincial Park, which boasts several scenic trails for hiking, running, or biking. While the options are limited, there are both elementary and high schools in the neighbourhood. The options for food in the area are limited, but there are some fast food places, including a Domino’s Pizza. For basic needs, like a drug store or post office, the Canyon Meadows Shopping Centre in the neighbourhood’s north end is the best bet. Also at that end, just outside the area, is Southcentre Mall. Along Macleod are several restaurants, a yoga studio, and a handful of specialty stores, as well as a Goodlife Fitness and the Canyon Meadows 10 cinema.

Not-so-perfect for: Families with little ones and anyone with a healthy fear of death.
