Most of these spots are right along Marine Drive, which is the neighbourhood’s only major road. The middle of the area is mostly residential, with just some schools and places of worship breaking that up. The northern part of Sunset gives you some green spaces, as well as a branch of the public library. For shopping or grabbing a bite, your best bet is Fraser Street.
Who lives here: Sunset has a diverse population. There are strong Indian and Chinsese communities. Many residents are passionate about their heritages, wanting to maintain their family’s culture and traditions alive. In fact, family and community are seen as two of life’s biggest priorities. With rentals being some of the most affordable in Vancouver, Sunset has become a favourite with new families and young people out on their own for the first time.
Perfect for: Families with little ones and newcomers looking for an inclusive, welcoming neighbourhood.
