One room available in a large, bright home 2 minutes to ocean, with park-like backyard. 2SLGBTQ+ positive environment. Room at $850, available for a year, or possibly longer term depending on a few factors. References will be required. House with two living areas; we live mostly upstairs. The two bedrooms on the lower floor are rented. The one that is available has a twin bed, dresser, side table, chair, bookshelf and a door to the outside. Shared living area on ground floor is large and bright, and includes fully equipped kitchen (no full stove), living room, wood-stove, nook, piano, full bathroom, laundry room, mud room. There is a back patio with a BBQ off the kitchen and a large private backyard. Bikes, kayaks, and canoe use may be available for occasional use. Close to beaches. Nature all around. Great community. No smoking or vaping on the property. No gamers and no partiers. Located on Protection Island in Nanaimo harbour, a 10 min foot passenger ferry ride to downtown, and from there you are beside the bus loop. It is a 10 to 15 minute bus to VIU. A resident ferry pass makes the cost substantially lower than for tourists/pub goers.
