As part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding your privacy and enhancing the security of our online rental marketplace, rentals.ca now requires the use of Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for all user accounts (Effective April 2, 2024).  Two-Factor Authentication is fairly commonplace these days and you have likely been asked to setup 2FA on other websites you frequently use.  It’s a process meant to significantly decrease the risk of a someone illegitimately accessing your account, even if they somehow have access to your password.

How the process works

  • When you login to your Rentals.ca account with your email and password, you will be prompted to enter a 6 digit number to complete your login.
  • Our system automatically sends an email to your inbox based on the email address we have relating to your account.
  • The email will contain a 6 digit number that you must enter on the website popup.
  • Enter the 6 digit number on the popup on the website and click Submit.
  • You will only have to do this process every 30 days.  If you use different devices to login to your rentals.ca account, you will need to authenticate for each device.

Please note:

  • The 6 digit code will expire in 15 minutes after it is sent.  You will have the option to Send it again on the popup window.
  • The email will come from [email protected] and should go to your inbox. If you do not see it there, please check your Junk/Spam folders.
